Kiwanis Meeting of September 14th
Joe Bellino was our guest today. After the introduction our agenda for today was presented :
1. September 15th-16th-POW Flags will be placed at the River Raisin Battlefield. Volunteers are needed fro noon until 5pm
2. Bowling team took 1 point last night
3. The next Board meeting will be on October 11th at noon
4. The new Budget for 2016/17 will be voted on at the next Board meeting
5. The Installation Banquet will be on September 28th at 6pm at the K of C Hall. Members are asked to let David Thompson know if you will be attending as well as your spouse ASAP
6. All shirt and hat orders must be turned into Dr. Jodie Bean with check made out to Monroe Kiwanis by September 30th. If you have any questions contact Dr. Jodie
7. River Raisin Battlefield is having a Volunteer Picnic on October 1st. If you can make it contact Jim Keegan
8. The Community Service Committee made contributions to 4 separate Charities
9. Jack Ready is still taking Pledges for the Alzheimer Walk on September 24th
10. A report was given on the Kiwanis Newsmagazine and the progress that we have up to this point. The deadline is October 7th. Members are urged to get teir ads in ASAP
Fred Drotar was our guest speaker today. The topic of his presentation was Yellowstone National Park. The majority of his pictures were taken in June and showed the beauty of the land as well as the animals and mountain backdrops. The temps get into the 40 degree area in September with snow in October
