Kiwanis meeting of October 23rd, 2019

Tim Roberts from Rupp Funeral Home was our guest today and filled out an application for membership
Agenda items today :
Birthdays celebrated this week were for Jacob Waltz and Dale Lockwood
Club Anniversaries this week were for Paul Van Aken and Jim Jacobs
Paul gave a presentation about what the club has meant to him after 30 years
President Dale asked the membership to sign up for doing the prayer before lunch
Judge Arnold reminded the members the last show for Lessons From Columbine will be this evening
A report was also given about the CASA Fashion Show that was held on Tuesday night with several members in attendance
Don Lutz ask members to volunteer to help out at the ISD Halloween Dance this Friday at 5 pm.Please show up if you can help

Jami Keegan, one of our past members,was our guest speaker today. She has been involved with the River Raisin National Battlefield since 2011.
During the Fiscal year,that just ended,they had 232,000 visitors from 49 states and 16 countries. Most recently they had 2,100 students in a 3 day period.
They have several new things coming up with the help of grants awarded to them. Included in that is Phase 1 for new construction at the Multi Sports Complex area.
Jami also thanked the club for our involvement in several of their projects.
