Kiwanis meeting of January 12th

Brooklyn Figueroa was our guest today.
Birthday wishes were given for Pastor Heather Boone
The bowling team took 4 points this week
The Kiwanis lottery is in full swing with several members enjoying some of the winnings
Parker Starr had her apron audit this week
Suzie Grizzle gave a report on the Key Club and announced they will be  a project for WHITE OUT CANCER
Iggy Cuccia and Ken Swinkey can use some help next Tuesday for the Community Meal. Members are asked to be there by 4:30 if possible to help bag the dinners for distribution at the door
Dale Stringham announced that we took in $1,932 for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing

 BILLS FOR MEMBERSHIP DUES AND DINNERS WILL BE GOING OUT FOR OCTOBER 2ND,2021 TO MARCH 31ST,2022. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR MONIES ASAP SO WE MAY CONTINUE TO DO OUR PROJECTS IN THE COMMUNITY

For our program we had Madoona Burkit from the Humane Society.
The Monroe Humane Society was founded in the 1950’s
In 1967 they moved to the Telegraph Rd. location
Currently they have 19 dogs and 40 cats at the facility  In 2021 they spade and neutered 203 cats and 75 dogs
They are 100% funded by public donations
As part of the future plans they are in Phase 1 which includes a Dog Park, Storage and Driveway at the new location
An on site clinic is also in the future plans
